What is the vintage MAH JONG?

symbols mean. Is not the latest or new, but as I said the vintage. Could you please list each symbol as you know and perhaps a definition.

Mah Jongg (it is spelled correctly with two S, and means "Big John" in Chinese) is a rummy-like game played with tiles. There are 144 tiles in a comprehensive, distributed as follows: - three combinations 36 tiles each, 4 each of rank 1 (low) to 9 (high) - four of each of the four winds: East, South, West and North - four each of the three Dragons: Fire Earth and Spirit, or red, green and white - a set of four seasons - a set of four flowers The three combinations are: - Bamboo (sometimes abbreviated to "Bam"), represented by a number of short bamboo stalks equal rank, except the bird on a bamboo tile; bird species varies from game to game, but is most often a toucan - Circle (Also called "point"), characterized by a number circles or dots equal to the rank, the only thing on the floor One Dot is often decorative, like the ace of spades on a European deck of cards - Character (Also called "number"), characterized by two Chinese characters on their faces, the figures above are the numbers 1-9 in Chinese character Ascending is the number 10,000, so that the character of tiles are sometimes called "ten thousand", the character of two tiles is "twenty thousand", and so on the three dragons are the following: - the fire dragon (also known as "Red Dragon") has a red Chinese character which means "fire" - the Dragon of Earth (also called "Green Dragon") has a green Chinese character meaning "earth" - Dragon Spirit (also called "White Dragon") is completely blank, it is NOT Wildcard seasons and the flowers often have no symbols on them that indicate their rank. Those who can not, or indicate the numbers 1 to 4 or the names of the seasons and flowers depicted on them. The seasons are more or less tied to the seasons that we know as the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. I do not know the species of flowers shown on each tile of the flower, I am not a Chinese botanist. However, I know the species of flowers do not match not the season in any way. The bordered in blue tile most modern sets Jongg Mah no sense in classical Chinese Mah Jongg. They were added later to the rules perverted modern Mah Jongg, I'll never play. Hope this helps. - LJS
