I encountered an image carved in jade, I think he is Chinese, may be caused due to the frame style, it is just in. .. I have never seen or heard of a creature like this: He rises from between the rocks of what appears to be the sea. Two thirds of that body - the bottom - has a tail like a fish curls up each side and agile, the body finely scalled a fish ... until it reaches a pair of wings (like a chicken prorated), but the head is clearly neither fish nor as a bird. It is not like any dragon I've ever seen in Chinese or another, but as it seems originally mythical ... Perhaps it is, I do not know. The only other details in the scene are intimately raises the leaves and vines. Does anyone know what such a creature could be? Any relevant info. greatly appreciated. Thank you:)
Chinese Legends state that there are four mythical animals. The dragon, the phoenix, the tortoise and the mythical creature you saw was the fourth beast, Qi Long. The four elements is also associated with them. = Dragon Air, Fire Phoenix =, = Turtle water, and Qi Long = Earth. Qi Long is more of a horse, the idea the unicorn came from Long Qi, but it is not.
