I get a fish tank. What size should I get and what kind of fish?

I'm going to put an aquarium and it must be smaller length 2 m height 1 m and 1 m wide. It will be heated. I want to get a small shark, but I would have to get a bigger tank. It will be decorated with plants, etc. Also what plants / statue things that I should get. thanx

Keep in mind - bigger is better and easier. Thus, the largest tank you might get the better. The dimensions descibing you sound like you looked in a tank of 20 gallons. If you get a shark, you will need a much larger tank when he gets older (they were known to grow a foot a year, and the type shark that you are looking in, they can grow to be 12-36 cm, sometimes more). In my opinion, plastic plants are the way to go. You do not to worry about the introduction of snails or disease, and you never have to worry about your fish to eat. Make sure you cycle it before adding your fish. Since you're going with a water heater, you have a large variety of fish to go with. Remember to keep schooling fish in groups of six or more to see the best colors and behavior at school. Rasboras, small tetras (not dollars money), Corydoras catfish, guppies, platies, swordtail, mollies, danios, even betta (if none of your fish have long flowing fins). Do Get Any goldfish, algae eaters, or cichlids (as they have all too large and produce too much waste for your tank to handle). Good luck!
