I mean, if you run a form of bronze, whose form would be least likely ring a bell? The form should not necessarily be hollow. It need not be a regular polyhedron.
All forms are equally resonant. Think how easy it would ruin a bell, turning Bong Clank, by welding bars at random in duration interior. You need to replace a single or a few modes of vibration of a high multitude of those who are weak. Masses would uncoordinatedly moving and each Q mode would be very low. To make a shape that will quickly absorb the vibrations, you want to avoid creating a structure where the strong waves can exist. Shell with an irregular match for random (a kind of crumpled tin foil) could do the job. You can also introduce defects (Like a crack in a bell), where sliding friction dissipates energy. If it must be a casting, such defects are probably out of question So I vote for the shape of the shell crumpled.
